PARAMORE "Born For This" - NEW SONG!

Click here to hear a new song from Paramore's upcoming album "Riot!"

LYRICS:
Oh no I just keep on falling
(Back to the same old)
Where's hope when misery comes crawling
(Oh, oh way hey)
With your faith you'll trigger a landslide
(victory)
Kill off this common sense of mind
It takes aqcuired minds to taste to taste to taste this wine
You cant down it with your eyes
So we don't need the headlines
We dont need the headlines
We just want
Everybody sing like its the last song you will ever sing
Tell me tell me do you feel the pressure now
Everybody live like its the last day you will ever see
Tell me tell me do you feel the pressure now
Right now your the only reason
(I'm not letting go oh)
And time out if everyones worth pleasing
(Ah woah oh)
You'll trigger a landslide
(victory)
To kill off their finite state of mind
It takes aqcuired minds to taste to taste to taste this wine
You can't down it with your eyes
So we don't need the headlines
No we don't want your headlines we just want
Everybody sing like its the last song you will ever sing
Tell me tell me do you feel the pressure now
Everybody live like its the last day you will ever see
Tell me tell me do you feel the pressure now
Everybody sing like its the last song you will ever sing
Tell me tell me do you feel the pressure
(sweet musical part...)
Alright so you think your ready, okay then you say this with me go
We were born for this
(we were born for this)
Alright so you think your ready, okay then you say this with me go
We were born for this
(we were born for this)
We were born for this
(we were born for this)
We were born for we were born for
Everybody sing like its the last song you will ever sing
Tell me tell me can you feel the pressure
Everybody live like its the last day you will ever see
Tell me tell me can you feel the pressure now
Everybody sing like its the last song you will ever sing
Tell me tell me can you feel the pressure
Tell me tell me can you feel the pressure
We were born for this
(we were born for this)
We were born for this

May 2007 Alternative Press - In The Studio

"We have got the biggest bag of laundry you've ever seen in your life," boasts diminutive Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams
as she and her bandmates remain hard at work recording their sophomore
album at the House Of Loud in Elmwood Park, New Jersey. "To be nice,
while the guys are recording today, I think our tour manager and I will
take care of that bag." So she isn't setting aside outfits for the Rock
And Roll Hall Of Fame - like her dress currently displayed in its
Warped Tour exhibit? "Nah," she says, laughing. "Not at the moment. We could,
though." Paramore immediately started writing for the June 12 release
when they returned from their U.K. tour with Fueled By Ramen labelmates
Cute Is What We Aim For last October, and they took about 17 songs to Jersey where they met up with producer David Bendeth (Hawthorne Heights).
"A couple of songs are older, like 'Hallelujah' which fans have sort of
caught onto," says Williams. "But we want everyone to have an open mind
- this album will show a completely new side of us." Aside from having
more time to focus on the record than they did when they scurried
through 2005's All We Know Is Falling ("That was just total
chaos"), she says there's more confidence this time around. "Lyrically,
I've learned to be more honest than I was," she says. "And that opens
up a deeper, more vulnerable, dark side. Some songs are victorious and
optimistic, but some are definitely darker."

Update From Sputnik Music

Paramore have revealed that Riot! is the title of their upcoming second album.

As previously reported, Paramore revealed in a statement yesterday that guitarist Hunter Lamb had left the band to spend more time with his family, and they'll continue to function as a four-piece until further notice, with frontwoman Hayley taking over rhythm guitar duties.

Riot! is due for release on June 12 via Fueled By Ramen.

Paramore - LJ Update.

HEY!

man, has time flown by. sorry it's been so long!
we realized how long it's been since you've heard from us... and how much has happened since then.
when i have my camera handy, i'll upload some pics for ya. although, i'm not sure i have that many as of right now. whatever the case, check back later for a few pictures!!!

after the "back from the almost dead" post, we realized how strong our connection with our fans has become over the past year and how much stronger it's going to become after our new record (RIOT!) is out. we were so humbled by the responses that some of you gave and at how honest you were with each other and most importantly yourself. it's pretty obvious that you guys are the best fans that any band could ever have and that all of us together have something that we never really thought any band/fans could have. thanks for taking the opportunity to allow us to open up to you and for opening up to us and each other in this community. we hope to continue to do things, by way of RIOT!, that will keep us as connected in the future as we are now. just keep your eyes and ears open for those opportunities.

also... can't believe we never really gave you a good update on this... Mary (the grand prize winner of our Last Song You'll Ever Sing contest) and the runners-up, Carl & Sarah, Kathleen and Derek did amazingly. we definitely picked the right people for the job. thanks again to everyone that entered, we had so much fun watching you guys enjoy music and just have a great time. would you guys ever wanna do stuff like that again? contests? interactive stuff?

now, for an interesting piece of information on the record that you won't get anywhere but here... (heh) we had a mariachi band come in on Monday. they laid down their version of a riff that is in a new song; working title "Mexico". if it works out the right way, you'll hear it on the record. however, even if it doesn't make it to the record you'll hear it and we think you'll love it. it was definitely a learning experience and very fun to learn about a different culture and the way they express themselves through music as opposed to the way we do. GOOD TIMES!!!

i guess, i have to get outta here and finish a vocal. only a song and half left until i'm done!
we are so excited. oh my gosh. the longer i sit here typing about it the more excited i get.

GOTTA GO!
love,
hayley and josh.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Check out this article about Paramore's guitarists Josh Farro and Hunter Lamb in the latest issue of Total Guitar magazine. Visit totalguitar.co.uk for more information.

Who are they and who do they sound like?
Paramore are an American emo quintet fro the heart of country music Tenessee. Describing their sound as "energetic, emotional and fun", they're everything you'd expect from the genre: soaring melodies, crunching guitars and plenty of angst thrown in for good measure. But although the band itself is almost three years old now, the oldest member is still only 21, and their drummer Zac, a mere 15. But despite their youth, they've already been touring extensively in the US, UK and as far afield as Japan.

Woah! That's pretty impressive for a bunch of young lads. So they were over in UK, you say...
They were indeed. In fact, they only finished a UK headlining tour midway through October. And by all accounts it went pretty darn well-it seems they made quite an impression. "It was amazing," says 18-year-old lead guitarist Josh Farro, "every show but one was sold out." And it appears the female fans over here were particularly keen on the American youngsters: "The girls are much more fearless in the UK. I'd be loading my equipment into the van and as they walked past they'd just grab my butt. I don't get that in the US!"

So the British ladies obviously fell for his American charm?
They sure did, but although we apparently share a language, sometimes the subtleties still get 'lost in translation'. "At one show this girl told me I was fit," recalls Farro. Fair enough you might think. But he'd never heard the expression before. With Josh not knowing what "fit" meant, it took a while for her to eventually blurt out that she wanted a snog!

D'oh! Now, aren't many of their friends still gonna be at school or college? How has the fame affected their relationships with them?
"Well, you find out who your true friends are," says Farro. "Some are jealous, and some people were even spreading rumors about us." But they shrug that off because those people are in the minority. and as he says, "we know we're really lucky, we've already seem more of the world than most people twice our age."

So what does the future hold for the band then?
Some time out! They want to build up their fan-base slowly so as not to feel the backlash. "We don't want to be one of those bands that last just a few years," says Farro. "U2, Journey and the Stones are still touring. I see us as one of those bands."

"Josh and Hayley of Paramore like to video chat due to them being locked up in a studio for months. So far what they have played for me, if this record fought the old record in a bare knuckle brawl. This new record is going to send the old one to the hospital in a helicopter 'med evac'. Trust me.

To finish it off, here are some cool Paramore fact that you may not have known before:
  • The first song from All We Know Is Falling, "All We Know," was written concerning bass guitarist Jeremy Davis's hiatus in 2005.
  • The couch on the cover of "All We Know is Falling" shows a shadow, symbolizing once former member Jeremy Davis.
  • The title Paramore was taken from a friend's mother's maiden name, and means hidden love.
  • Former rhythm guitarist Jason Bynum's girlfriend Ashley was the featured model in the music video for "Pressure."
  • The band recorded their song "Pressure" in Simlish for the video game The Sims 2.
  • "Emergency" was released in the UK on Limited Edition Vinyl for a HMV Exclusive and contained "Oh Star" as a B side.
  • According to Williams, "While Paramore are made up of Christians, they are not a Christian Rock band." (From Kerrang! Magazine interview)
  • Pressure and All We Know were released in the UK as Download only Singles.
  • Hayley Williams will be featured on a track on the upcoming album "The Fiancee" by The Chariot.
  • Hayley Williams is featured in the song "Keep Dreaming Upside Down" by October Fall.
  • Hayley (vocals) and Jeremy (bass) were formerly in a funk cover band together. When Hayley joined what was to be Paramore and they were in need of a bass player she suggested Jeremy.
  • Hayley Williams' dress and Josh Farro's shirt are now on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. The outfits were worn on Warped Tour 2006 and in the Emergency video.
  • Hunter Lamb's identical twin brother Hayden is the drummer in the band Red (band)

Win a chance to be on the new Paramore album - "THE LAST SONG YOU'LL EVER SING CONTEST!"

(source: www.paramoreband.livejournal.com)

hey guys

it's all of us here...
so, maybe you've heard about the "singing" contest? alright, well we just wanted to give you a few more details about it. just in case you misunderstood anything on the site.

first off, we saw some questions on the community about it involving the "rules". yeah, we know it sucks. unfortunately, when doing a national contest like this you have to go by certain guidelines that might seem a bit over the top but in order to do things like this we gotta go by the book. we apologize FOR the douche's that made it all up... but it wasn't us. we swear, ha.

another thing... it might say "background vocals" but you should know, that the winner(s) will actually be singing GANG VOCAL parts. it's a lot more like yelling than singing... so just HAVE FUN with it. your voice isn't going to win this for you. your personality is. we need girls AND boys to get in on this.

go to http://www.paramore.net/contest
read and follow the instructions carefully and post your video up so we can see it!
dance, sing, yell, scream.. just DO WHATCHA DO.

we're sorry about any confusion there might be with this.

[EDIT]: you definitely need to know that there is only one GRAND PRIZE winner - who will, with a friend, be receiving air fare to NJ and accomodations. HOWEVER, we will also be looking very closely at the submissions from the Jersey/NYC/Philly area who could potentially be runners up in case we need more than just two gang vocal singers. so, HURRY UP AND MAKE THE BEST DANG VIDEO OF YOURSELF SCREAMIN YOUR FREAKIN LUNGS OUT TO ONE OF OUR SONGS!!!

http://www.paramore.net/contest

LOVE,
PARAMORE

"Back from the almost dead" -New Paramore Journal.

[source: http://paramoreband.livejournal.com]

heeyyy.

well it's been since the video update and it's time that you heard from us.
sorry to keep ya waiting.

just to let you guys know, we're sort of in the middle of this whole process.
josh is doing some guitar tracks and hopefully i'll be starting vocals sometime this week.
with every day we get more and more excited about it all.

alright, so i wanna get a little bit personal for a second... i have nothing to do anyhow, so here goes nothing.

sometimes i'm better at hiding behind smiles than other times. you know what that feels like?
most of the songs goin on this record were written in the last few months of 2006 after we got back from England. we were sort of on a high. we hadn't really been home in a while and home was like... another day sheet, another shirt out of the suitcase, another cup of scorching hot tea...another show... just a different type of show. when i got back... i just realized a lot about myself. i spent a lot of time with my thoughts - by myself. it really was amusing, to me, to think of all that we've been through and how many great things we've had the opportunity to do, the people we've met... and then to realize... "i'm home and i'm still the same little ol' me." i guess, before it all started, i thought that going off on tour and being semi-successful would make me forget it all. anything that bothered me would just disappear and i'd come home and sleep peacefully in my own bed. well, that's not really how it happened. everything i left i came back to. some things had changed but it was more like growth than change. i felt the same feelings... a lot of the same pains... none of it had disappeared. it forced me to learn a lot about life and the way i've approached it as opposed to other ways i could've approached it, if i'd only looked at things from different angles. the guys have gone through a lot of similar things since coming home. we've been through a lot together and learned a lot from each other. i think what i have learned most is that... i'll never be perfect. i'm not talking about just looks or things like that... but in every part of life... i'll always be flawed. i'm sure a lot of girls feel that way too and i know that dudes do cause i live with a bunch of em. the greatest feeling is knowing that i don't have to be right. i've been ashamed and am still ashamed of things i've felt. hate. jealousy. lust. fear. pride. self consciousness. pure anger. pity. just plain hurt. but instead of hiding it all... i feel like i need to talk about it. you might hear a lot of this on the record - more detailed in some songs than others. it's important to us that fans of ours know that's how it's going to be before anybody else. you guys knew us first... so... you'll know a little more of us first, now ;-)

to sum this all up...
everyone in this band has been through painful, shameful times... some of which have left scars.
but we feel like that's okay
cause they make us who we are.

hayley
well actually - this is from all of us.

we haven't really done this in a while and it would certainly be understandable if you don't wanna participate,
but...
what are you ashamed of?
------------------------------------------------------------------
hey guys,

this is josh... I just wanted to add to hayley's entry cause I think it's great.

I am ashamed of my fear of death. Not only my death but the death of those who mean most to me.

josh

Be sure to talk about lyrics, personal style, the music, why you like them as people... make it as long as you can/want!

I'll post in on The Paramore LJ and in its own journal here
and if i find out some super-amazing way of getting it to the band, i will...i'll try!
Its worth it, Paramore deserve it <3

So get commenting EVERYONE...(that includes the four lazy-ass admins)
Be sure to speak your mind and make it super long =)

Paramore Journal Update!

HEY!

well, it's been long enough.
couldn't really wait any longer... and we wanted to basically give you (from the beginning til now) an update on the new record and our time here in jersey. so, we're gonna do something that we've not really done before here on our LiveJournal - don't know why we haven't ever done it before... but it doesn't matter, ha - we're gonna tell the short story with a few (or more) pics.

sometime, during the first week of january we packed up our things and crammed ourselves back into Old Faithful...

anyone remember the 12 passenger? oh yeah... it's back, baby!

WAIT!
Now before we go any further, you'll need meet our very good friend and new tour manager, Ronnie Gardner.

You might know of him. He was the man behind the soundbooth at probably every Underoath show you've ever been to, if you've been. Other bands he's worked with include: Strike Anywhere, Taking Back Sunday, The Chariot, The Bled, Fear Before The March of Flames and These Arms Are Snakes. Most Famously, he toured with us on our first headlining tour ever, running sound and spooning with Zac. And for all you ladies out there... he's very single!

Alright, so back to our big journey.
We drove from our hometown of Franklin, Tenessee, all the way to our new home in New Jersey. It was about a 13 hour drive, not too bad. As you can probably imagine, we saw lots of... this type of stuff:

Fought an infuriated tiger...

Got some of this... (of both persuasions)

and watched a whole lot of this...

yep, the ride up here was a lot of fun.

One memorable moment was a stop at Cracker Barrel, an old favorite of ours. Being hicks... we thrive on trips to the "CB". Someone eating there asked us what band we were in... Josh said "Nickelback... You know, 'Look at this photograph, every time I do it makes me laugh." We guessed that either they hate Nickelback or they've been living underground for the past six years, cause they didn't say anything and Nickelback are huge. ha ha. Anyway, here are a few of us, doin what we do, at Cracker Barrel.

AJAX!!!

So, then it was back to the van and on to Jersey.
A little more of this:

and 9 hours later... there he was in all his glory

The one, the only David Bendeth!

And well, we haven't really stopped since. the record is going to be so much fun!
So, welcome to every day of our lives here in the studio. A new chapter in what will be known forever as Paramore.

Be on the look out for new pics, videos and all sorts of updates from us.
We love you guys,
Zac, Josh, Hunter, Jeremy, Hayley.

p.s. please excuse the misuse of capital and lowercase letters. alright, woo!
